"Le Comptoir is the name given to the old barn of the farm. Its large
bay window opening out onto a seaview is attractive and inviting to non residents.
le comptoir is open to the public from 1st July to 31st August.
The bar / Tea room
The Bar-Tea room consists of 2 rooms and a beautiful landscaped terrace.
The bar offers a friendly casual atmosphere and the possibility to sample some of the home grown organic produce:
- Lemonade / Ice tea
- Freshly pressed fruit juice and smoothies
- Teas,pastries and cakes
- Draught beers, local wines
The Tea room is situated in the old stable. A modern decor mixes very well with the original rustic style: take a seat on the bales of hay and sample some of the pastries made by Jeanne
The organic grocery store and “pantry”
The grocery store offers organic products, all tested and approved by Marylou. You can find:
- Organic produce , self service
- Selection of Teas/ Local wines
- Fruit juices / Bread/ Dairy produce
- Sardines the brand « Le P’tit vendéen » these are usually only found at the cannery.
The pantry offers basic organic groceries (bread, dairy products, teas, herbal teas, wines, beers, tinned foods).
The shop “La boutique “
During the summer period, the nave hosts an exhibition area, tasting events and thematic workshops. Items used in the decoration of the accommodation can also be seen:
- The meridian exposed on the terrace of the bar
- Rugs made from fabric off cuts, createdby the spinning mill Alpoujiras (south of Granada)
You will also find a bookshop proposing various topics on the environment. You can even find the works of Gilles Daveau: the alternative cookbook – « Savez-vous goûter les légumes secs » how to enjoy dried vegatables and pulses.
Marylou’s professional kitchen
The barn has a professional kitchen. It is here that Marylou and Petra concoct their home made dishes. A tapas style dish can be enjoyed at the bar or as a take away option.
The kitchen area is also available as a Caterering service for family events, seminars or business meeting.
